We were out boating memorial day weekend on a Sunday. It was an all day event and it was super fun! We were on a pontoon and then met up with other friends, tied our boats together and hung out in the bay all day. We tried to get in the water but it was SO cold that we could only stay in a couple minutes before freezing! It was nice to cool off though, as it was real hot that day.
After a while, about 5pm, we decided to go to a house party on Lake Mendota. At first I wasn't really having it, but what else were we going to do? We got there, and there were people everywhere in swimsuits! So fun, casual and people just there to have a good time on a good day. As we were walking off the pier, I noticed this guy in the water peeing and cooling off (weird combo I know) in his boxers! He had seaweed all over him too - I told him this and also complimented his monkey boxers but thought he might want to cover up! We went up to say hello to the house owner, but didn't stay long in there as it was stuffy as all get out. I also didn't want to play the drinking games on the lawn with others, just not in the mood for that. So we ended up going back out on the pier to hang out.
We were doing introductions with some people and a guy came up to me and introduced himself (of course it was monkey boxers guy!).
"Hi I'm Peter." Reaching out his hand to me.
I looked at him and said "Hi, I'm Lindsey...and we went out on a date 6 years ago!"
He kind of laughed and said "take off your sunglasses!"
I took them off, he remembered and we caught up for a while. After joking around for a bit, not remembering how we first met, he laughed and said "Haha, well I think we should go out for drinks again!"
I totally thought he was joking and kind of laughed it off.
He looks at me "you think I'm kidding don't you?"
"Well...yeah..."
"Nope, let's go out for a drink sometime...if that's cool."
I was pretty surprised, but since I'm in my 30s life motto WHY NOT? I gave him my number! I also remember telling him I didn't remember him being this outgoing and funny 6 years ago (probly not the nicest thing to say), and he smiled and said that things change in 6 years.
We'll see how it goes, but I am kind of excited...he's a good guy :)
